The aim of certification of products is to provide manufacturers and costumers with proof of product quality. Several certification bodies already offer specific programs for e.g. software or cloud service certification, but with new IoT solutions, also new challenges appear. Among other things, quality characteristics of IoT devices and infrastructures must be tested with respect to the functional and non-functional characteristics of IoT-solutions.

Especially our project partner DEKRA has many years of expertise in the field of certification. Currently, increasingly reliable and secure internet-of-things (IoT) solutions are being sought, for which the market does not yet have sufficient testing methods and tools. Test and certification offers (IoT-testware) will be offered via the IoT-Testlab which will be installed.
